Assassin Job Change
Enter the Assassin Guild in moc_fild16, pass Khai's application, The Anonymous One's written exam, Barcardi's combat and hiding trials, navigate the guild maze, survive the Guildmaster interview, and return the Necklace of Oblivion to Huey. on ClassicRO : RagnaFever.
Requirements
- Must be a Thief with Job Level 40 or higher.
- Use all First Job skill points before starting or completing the job change.
- Pass the written exam with 9 or more correct answers out of 10 (score above 80).
- Kill exactly 6 monsters named Job change target in the combat test — wrong targets fail the run.
- Reach Barcardi at the far side of the hiding room without killing any spawned monsters.
- Navigate the invisible-wall maze to Guildmaster#ASN2 and complete the interview.
- Return to Huey with the Necklace of Oblivion (Frozen Heart) to finish the job change.
Quest IDs
8000–8008 — Job Change to Assassin
8001 after Huey sends you inside; 8002 at Khai; 8003 written test; 8004 combat; 8005 hiding; 8006 maze; 8007 Guildmaster acceptance; 8008 final change at Huey. 8000 is set when quitting mid-quest.
NPC Locations
Huey — Guild Entrance
- Travel to the Assassin Guild in moc_fild16 (2 maps south and 2 maps east from Morroc) and talk to Huey at the entrance (in_moc_16 19, 33).
- Requirements: Thief, Job Level 40+, and no unused First Job skill points.
- Choose "Yes. I've picked my last pocket." to begin — Huey warps you inside and sets quest 8001.
- If you quit a later trial, Huey at ASSIN_Q 4 can heal you and send you back to the hiding test, or reset you to town (save point in_moc_16 18, 14).
- After the full quest, return to Huey with the Necklace of Oblivion to complete quest 8008 and change jobs.
Khai — Application
- Inside the guild, walk up to Khai (in_moc_16 25, 90) — he only talks face to face via OnTouch.
- Confirm you are an Assassin trainee and fill out the application with your name and job level.
- Job Level 49 or higher (ASSIN_Q3 = 1): Khai notes your high job level and sends you to the Test Hall.
- Job Level 40–48 (ASSIN_Q3 = 2): Khai accepts you normally and sends you to the Test Hall.
- Quest advances to 8002 and you warp to in_moc_16 19, 144 near The Anonymous One.
- If you deny wanting to be an Assassin, Khai erases quest 8001 and warps you out to moc_fild16.
Written Test — The Anonymous One
- Touch the hidden NPC area at in_moc_16 19, 154 and challenge The Anonymous One.
- Optional: ask about Skills or Stats before starting — you must eventually choose "Hmpf, I know it all." to begin.
- Answer 10 questions from one of three random sets — 9 or more correct (score above 80) passes.
- On pass: quest 8003, ASSIN_Q2 = 5. Proceed to Barcardi for the combat trial.
- On fail: ASSIN_Q2 = 4, warp to in_moc_16 19, 76. Talk to Khai for optional hint dialogue, then retry at The Anonymous One.
- Asking The Anonymous One for help after failing can banish you to moc_fild16 (206, 151).
Combat Test — 6 Job Change Targets
- Talk to Barcardi (Test Guide#ASN) at in_moc_16 21, 165 for instructions.
- Enter the Standby Room waiting area above Barcardi — one player at a time warps to the arena at 66, 151.
- Kill exactly 6 monsters named Job change target (case-sensitive). Decoys include Job change creature, Job change monster, Jobs change target, and many similar names.
- Hitting any wrong monster immediately fails the run and warps you to 19, 161.
- Stepping on trap tiles in the arena also fails the run.
- You have 3 minutes. On success, the door at 87, 137 opens and quest advances to 8004.
- Choosing "Quit the job change test" at Barcardi resets quests to 8000 and warps you to 19, 13.
Hiding Test — No Kills
- Enter through Keeper of the Door#ASN at in_moc_16 87, 137 — warps to 87, 102 and sets ASSIN_Q = 4.
- Thomas (in_moc_16 89, 98) explains the test: reach Barcardi on the opposite side without killing any monsters.
- Mummies and Hydras spawn in the room. Killing any monster fails the test and warps you back to 87, 102.
- Use Hiding or Cloaking to cross the room and touch Barcardi#ASN at 87, 48.
- On success: quest 8005, warp to the maze entrance at 181, 183.
- If you are low on HP after failing, Thomas can fully heal you; choose retry or quit (quit resets to quest 8000).
Maze — Find the Guildmaster
- Barcardi warps you to in_moc_16 181, 183 at the maze entrance.
- First visit: Maze Assistant (182, 169) warps you back to the entrance and sets quest 8006.
- Re-enter the maze — the assistant announces your entry and warps you to 167, 113 near Guildmaster#ASN1.
- Guildmaster#ASN1 (167, 110) explains the invisible-wall maze; navigate to Guildmaster#ASN2 at 149, 80.
- Scattered info NPCs in the maze give directional hints if you are lost.
- Touch Guildmaster#ASN2 to begin the interview (ASSIN_Q must reach 7).
Guildmaster Interview
- Barcardi does not conduct the interview — only Guildmaster#ASN2 at 149, 80 does.
- Answer the Guildmaster's personality questions; there is no pass/fail score — all dialogue paths lead to approval.
- The Guildmaster gathers Huey, Khai, The Anonymous One, Barcardi, Beholder, and Thomas for a group evaluation.
- Job Level 49+ (ASSIN_Q3 = 1): choose one reward weapon — Jur, Katar, Main Gauche, or Gladius (slotted versions: Jur_, Katar_, Main_Gauche_, Gladius_).
- Job Level 40–48: receive a random weapon (Main Gauche, Jur, Stiletto, Knife, or Katar).
- Receive the Necklace of Oblivion (Frozen Heart), quest 8007, and warp to the guild entrance at 17, 19.
Return to Huey — Job Change
- Return to Huey at in_moc_16 19, 33 with the Necklace of Oblivion in your inventory.
- Huey verifies the token with the Guildmaster, advances quest 8007 to 8008, and removes the necklace.
- Complete quest 8008 and change job to Assassin.
- Presenting a fake necklace before finishing the maze sends you to moc_fild16 (206, 229).
Written Exam — The Anonymous One
One of three random 10-question sets. Each correct answer adds 10 points (100 max). Score above 80 (9 or more correct) to pass. You may miss at most one question.

Rewards
Job change to Blacksmith. Steel reward: 5 if Job Level 48 or below, 30 if Job Level 49 or higher.
Notes
- Barcardi (Test Guide and Barcardi#ASN) runs the combat and hiding trials only — the Guildmaster conducts the final interview.
- Written test fail (ASSIN_Q2 = 4): warp to 19, 76; Khai may give random hint monologues but never actual answers.
- Combat fail: wrong mob name, trap tile, or timeout warps you to 19, 161 — re-enter via the Standby Room.
- Hiding fail: killing any monster warps you to 87, 102; Thomas can heal and let you retry or quit.
- Quitting at Barcardi during combat/hiding resets ASSIN_Q variables and quest to 8000.
- Necklace of Oblivion (Frozen Heart) is consumed by Huey when you job change — do not lose it before returning.
- Job Level 49+ players choose their slotted weapon reward; Job Level 40–48 receive a random unslotted weapon.
- Mobile clients may skip directly from the written test to the hiding room (quest 8002 → 8004).
- Upper-class characters and non-Thief classes are turned away at the entrance.
